THESE ARE GREAT BAGS, SIMPLE, STRAIGHT FORWARD, VERY WEATHER RESISTANT AND JUST PLAIN PRACTICAL FOR EVERY DAY USE!
Pat, Kevin and I use these just about everyday for commuting to work and for general purpose hauling of stuff.
I think all of us have had our Axiom bags in service for going on 3 years now. I switch them between bikes, I have stuffed them in a front basket on a rainy day on bikes without racks.
We use them on our recumbents, our upright bikes, I take mine when going on self supported touring especially to protect my good stuff that can't get wet. The bags are based on the river rafting dry
bag idea with a sealed roll top. Kevin has used his to haul ice and beer inside the bag like a cooler when riding his bike out to the auto races in the summer, they are that waterproof! Pat uses his to haul our nuts /bolts from the local supplier which is a fair amount of weight to carry.
We cannot say enough good things about these bags based on our own experiences. They cost significantly less than the Ortlieb bags that are similarly constructed and are way more waterproof than most any other type of bag including those with weather covers that you have to remember to put on when it starts to rain. We vote this one
of the most practical items we own for our bikes which is why we are selling this particular brand of panniers bags. They also happen to fit very nicely on our TerraCycle made racks, although you need to watch the ground clearance on bikes with extrememly low seating positions. You can fit the Monsoon model on the Easy Racers bikes if you watch how you load them at the bottom so that nothing is poking down below the bottom edge of the bag. I have toured for weeks with a pair on my own Tour Easy and only scraped the bag once or twice when agressively cornering on a fast downhill. The Torrent model is an uber simple design that is the same as the other two models but does not have the top flap. The top flap has a small zippered pocket that I have rarely used, so it might be nice to save some money and go with this model. The Typhoon is the largest of the three bags and holds a whole lot of gear. The Monsoon and the Torrent are virtually the same size, the only difference being the top flap on the Monsoon.
The bags come in three colors and have a reflective patch on the rear facing panel to help you be seen better at night. Price listed is for two bags, we only sell them in pairs.
