Nespresso® Capsule Brigade®

Nespresso® has joined with the eco-friendly innovator TerraCycle® to provide a second life for used Nespresso capsules through the Nespresso Capsule Brigade®. Every time you enjoy Nespresso, save the capsule and recycle it with TerraCycle.

Send in waste from your home or business

TerraCycle will collect all consumer Nespresso capsules and then recycle them into two streams. The metal capsules will be melted down and turned into new aluminum products. Residual coffee will be separated and sent to an industrial composting facility.

Participation in the Nespresso Capsule Brigade is completely free. There are no fees and all shipping is covered by the program. Once you have joined the Nespresso Capsule Brigade simply follow the steps below. Please note that you will not receive points for shipments sent in through this Brigade.

1. Log in to your TerraCycle account and click the "SHIP US YOUR WASTE" button. Choose the "GET SUPPLIES" option and TerraCycle will mail you a set of black recycling bags for you to use to collect your capsules. Please note that these bags will only be sent when you request them through the website. You may also use any other kind of plastic bag you have at home to ship the capsules back to TerraCycle.
2. Collect enough Nespresso capsules to fill up the black recycling bags. Place your filled black bags in a shipping box and remember, the capsules do not need to be cleaned or stacked, and always try to reuse a shipping box to minimize your ecological footprint.
3. Download a free shipping label from terracycle.com. To acquire a pre-paid label, simply access your TerraCycle account online, and click “SHIP US YOUR WASTE” to print out your pre-paid shipping label.
4. Ship the box to TerraCycle by affixing the pre-paid postage label and dropping it off at a UPS location

Nespresso Capsule Brigade accepted waste: Nespresso Consumer capsules and Nespresso Professional (business/office) capsules.. We do NOT accept T-Discs and K-Cups, only Nespresso-branded capsules.
