Annual Classroom Clean Out

Annual Classroom Clean Out

As the school year comes to an end, it’s time to start cleaning out those cubbies, desks, and lockers. Instead of throwing your empty glue bottles, broken computer accessories, and dried out pens in the trash, send them to TerraCycle and turn them into rewards for your organization.

What is the Annual Classroom Clean Out?

From May 1st until June 30th, schools can participate in the Annual Classroom Clean Out to earn prizes for getting rid of their empty school supplies before the summer! TerraCycle school locations will have their collections for the Scotch® Tape Brigade®, Writing Instrument Brigade, Keyboard and Mouse Brigade, and Elmer’s Glue Crew® Brigade tallied for a chance to win the Annual Classroom Clean Out. The top three collectors in each of the participating Brigade programs will be rewarded bonus TerraCycle points and a TerraCycle prize pack.

Who can participate in the Annual Classroom Clean Out?

The Annual Classroom Clean Out is open to all TerraCycle Brigade locations that are schools from kindergarten to college who are registered and actively participating in the Scotch Tape Brigade, Writing Instrument Brigade, Keyboard and Mouse Brigade, or Elmer’s Glue Crew Brigade. You do not have to participate in all four Brigade programs to qualify. Not yet a member of these Brigade programs? You can join them today by visiting our current list of Brigade programs!

All participating locations are subject to the Annual Classroom Clean Out Rules.

Helpful Tip: Encourage parents and teachers to bring in waste from home to contribute to your collections. You can use “Our TerraCycle Brigade Programs” resource as a helpful tool to gather collections at home. Simply indicate which programs you collect for and send it home to parents to have students bring in their waste from home.

What are the prizes?

The three schools that collect the most waste in each of the participating Brigade programs will be given the following rewards:

  1. The highest collector in each Brigade will be awarded 15,000 TerraCycle points and an upcycled prize pack.
  2. The second highest collector will be awarded 10,000 TerraCycle points and an upcycled prize pack.
  3. The third highest collector will be awarded 5,000 TerraCycle points and an upcycled prize pack.

There will be a total of 12 winners (three for each of the four participating Brigade programs). Winners will be announced on or around July 15th.
