Wicked Cool! Eco-Heroes

This October and November, Tom's of Maine and TerraCycle are teaming up to hear who you think is a true Wicked Cool! Eco-Hero at your school. Do you know a student or teacher who has gone above and beyond, leading and motivating students and staff to improve your school's environmental impact? Tell us about your Eco-Hero for a chance to get them the recognition they deserve!

From October through November, Tom's of Maine Natural Care Brigade participants may nominate a student or teacher whose environmental accolades should be recognized by the nation. Multiple individuals from one Brigade location may make a nomination, but each individual may only make one nomination.

How do I nominate a Wicked Cool! Eco-Hero?

To nominate a student or teacher, participants must submit a photo or video by 6:00 pm EST on November 30th, 2013 detailing the nominee's environmental accomplishments. The video or photo should clearly demonstrate why the person you nominated is a Wicked Cool! Eco-Hero. And please note, videos should be no longer than two minutes.

Participants must also submit an approximately 250 word description of the individual's eco-efforts.

There are two categories available for nomination. Five winners will be chosen in each category. Please see the Rules and Regulations for judging criteria.

  • Wicked Cool! Students: Wicked Cool! Students motivate their peers to be eco-concious and they lead by example. For example, a Wicked Cool! Student may be heavily involved with an environmental club at school, or organize a school-wide waste collection program.
  • Wicked Cool! Teachers: A Wicked Cool! Teacher is one that leads the sustainability efforts at school, or incorporates "green" habits in the classroom.

There will be five winners in each category. Each winner will each receive an official Wicked Cool! Eco-Heroes Certificate created by the TerraCycle Graphic Design Team as well as 30 upcycled Tom's of Maine pencil cases to share.

Winners will be announced on or around December 15th.

All eligible participants are subject to the Wicked Cool! Eco-Heroes Rules.
