Help supply a backpack filled with school supplies to a child in need

By redeeming 375 TerraCycle points, you will be providing children with the necessary school supplies to continue their education after a natural disaster occurs. School supplies may include, but are not limited to, folders, notebooks, markers, crayons, pencils, glue, glue sticks, erasers, scissors, rulers, pencil sharpeners, and pens.

Hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, wildfires, and tornadoes can seriously disrupt a child's sense of order and security. For some children, a storm might be the first sign that the world is not always a safe and orderly place, despite all precautions. Schools play an important role in helping children return to normal and familiar routines and activities after a disaster strikes.

In today's world, we must be prepared for any unexpected disaster. No matter which geographical area we live in, there are potentials for natural disasters to seriously disrupt children’s lives. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters. The need to prepare is real.

The Kids In Need Foundation will prepare student backpacks to have on hand when a disaster occurs. Stored at an accessible warehouse, these kits will contain basic school supplies a student needs to return to school feeling confident and comfortable, helping to establish a sense of normalcy.
