THIS BRIGADE IS ONLY OPEN AND INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL USERS. If you are not a commercial user, you will not be accepted into the program

Each year, millions of writing instruments are needlessly discarded and end up in landfills. Sanford® Brands, a division of Newell Rubbermaid®, has partnered with eco-friendly innovator TerraCycle® to create a second life for writing instruments

Every time you Bring Life to Words™ with a Paper Mate® pen or Uncap What's Inside™ with your Sharpie® permanent marker. We want you to think about the environment to save used writing instruments and send them to TerraCycle! TerraCycle will upcycle or recycle the depleted Paper Mate®, Sharpie® and Expo® writing instruments and packaging into other fun and innovative products.

Participate in The Writing Instruments Brigade. It is simple and it's completely FREE - all costs and shipping are covered by the program. If you participate, $0.02 per acceptable writing instrument will be paid to the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of your choice for each Paper Mate®, Expo® or Sharpie®, pen, marker or highlighter. It's a great win for your organization and the environment! Join the Brigade Today!

Here's how you can sign up:

1. Select a Writing Instruments Brigade leader to represent your corporation. That person will be responsible for setting up the Brigade location and reaching out to members and others of their corporation to join the Writing Instruments Brigade and collect on their behalf.

2. Your Writing Instruments Brigade leader should then click on the "Start Collecting" link below and will begin the registration process.

3. Once you join and confirm your participation for the Writing Instruments Brigade, you can either request or download the Welcome Kit through your online account at www.terracycle.net

4. The Brigade leader should set up a collection box (the box can be a reused copy paper box - get creative!) in a high-traffic area for individuals to drop off their empty Paper Mate?, Sharpie? and Expo? writing instruments and packaging in the collection box. Boxes are not provided within the program

5. Once the collection box is filled with Paper Mate?, Sharpie? and Expo? writing instruments, the Brigade leader should do the following:

A. Print out the pre-paid collection label through their online account at www.terracycle.net and affix the pre-paid label to the reused collection box.

B. Drop the collection box and/or bag at the nearest UPS? drop-off location, or at the organization's regular pick-up location.

Once the box and/or bag arrives at TerraCycle?, the writing instruments and packaging will be counted and credited to the organization's account.

6. Once you've sent in your collected writing instruments, you can continue to collect and send in more used writing instruments. You can also manage your account, request additional shipping labels and more on www.terracycle.net.
