Public Relations and Marketing Internship

Spend this summer working for the world leader in collection and recycling of post-consumer, non-recycle waste. The TerraCycle PR and Marketing Internship focuses on the foundations of public relations and marketing techniques and skills. Interns perform duties relevant to a junior associate in any PR firm or department, working with department members to learn how to write press releases and effectively pitch stories. They also work directly with the media, pitching the TerraCycle story and TerraCycle promotions or events. The internship offers the opportunity for interns to build fundamental public relations and communications skills and begin to build a portfolio. Interns are also trained on media databases, media clipping services, and media tracking programs.

Nuts and Bolts:

The internship is located at our graffiti-covered global headquarters in Trenton, NJ. Interns will be asked to bring their own laptop computer to the office, but printing facilities and general office supplies will be provided. The preferred duration of the internship is May to August with an expected minimum of 12 hours per week. However, each internship can be customized, and the duration can vary on a case to case basis. Though, students seeking college credit must adhere to their educational institution’s internship requirements.

Although the internship if unpaid, we provide a bountiful lunch every day, a well-organized education experience with interdepartmental lectures so that you can learn about all aspects of TerraCycle’s operations and business management in general, regular intern events and company parties. In the previous year, TerraCycle had over 100 interns from top colleges, law schools and business schools. It’s a dynamic and highly charged entrepreneurial environment. TerraCycle will offer college credit and recommendations upon successful completion of the internship. Due to the company’s eco-focus, some schools, including Princeton, provide a stipend for their students to work at TerraCycle, so please check with your school if they can provide support.
