Strategic Partnership Internship:

Spend this summer working for the world leader in collection and recycling of post-consumer, non-recycle waste. You will be working with the Strategic Partnership Manger to increase business development and partnerships with non-profits and governmental organizations for TerraCycle through internet and relevant research, composing and distributing pitch emails introducing TerraCycle to new companies and some cold-calling and follow up.

Nuts and Bolts:

The internship is located at our graffiti-covered global headquarters in Trenton, NJ. Interns will be asked to bring their own laptop computer to the office, but printing facilities and general office supplies will be provided. The preferred duration of the internship is from May to August with an expected minimum of 12 hours per week. However, each internship can be customized, and the duration can vary on a case to case basis. Though, students seeking college credit must adhere to their educational institution’s internship requirements.

Although the internship if unpaid, we provide a bountiful lunch every day, a well-organized education experience with interdepartmental lectures so that you can learn about all aspects of TerraCycle’s operations and business management in general, regular intern events and company parties. In the previous year, TerraCycle had over 100 interns from top colleges, law schools and business schools. It’s a dynamic and highly charged entrepreneurial environment. TerraCycle will offer college credit and recommendations upon successful completion of the internship. Due to the company’s eco-focus, some schools, including Princeton, provide a stipend for their students to work at TerraCycle, so please check with your school if they can provide support.

Qualifications:

We seek individuals who can easily adapt to our fast-paced environment and show the necessary focus to complete projects in a short amount of time while maintaining the initiative and independence to complete other tasks that may not necessary have rigid guidelines or a set deadline.

Interns for the Strategic Partnership Department will need strong internet research skills (Boolean searches, etc.) to retrieve company contact information; be able construct well written introductory emails. Must also possess strong verbal skills and be willing to speak with new contacts to introduce the benefits of partnering with TerraCycle. Experience with Powerpoint a bonus, but not required.
