How it works
We’ve made getting started with the Amscan Latex & Foil Balloon Free Recycling Program easy! Simply head in store to a participating retailer to drop-off your Latex & Foil Balloons to TerraCycle, and we’ll recycle them.

Participating in this program is easy and FREE! See answers to frequently-asked questions here.
You can recycle any brand of:
- Foil balloons
- Latex balloons
- Latex balloons treated with Hi- Float & Hi-Shine
This program does not accept:
- Prefilled confetti balloons
- Ribbon and balloon weights
- Closure clips
- Balloon sticks and stick cups
- Packaging and other party accessories
Amscan and Amscan Partners sponsor this national recycling program making it free for you to participate.
Discover Our Recycling Process
Once collected, the balloons are cleaned and separated by material type. The materials are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.

Sustainability is a core consideration for our industry, and we are taking positive action by tackling waste. Amscan® have partnered with TerraCycle to help recycle foil and latex balloons and reduce what ends up in landfills. We encourage all consumers to “Pin it, and bin it” so balloons can't fly away and become litter in the environment, and are instead responsibly disposed of through our recycling program.
