Did you know that despite 60% of Australian’s feeling extremely confident about their recycling habits, 94% are making mistakes by putting one or more non-recyclable or hard-to-recycle items in their general yellow-lid recycling bins?
That’s why Fairy and TerraCycle have created #FairyCycle – a growing network of public drop-off locations in local communities across the country - to help Australians in their recycling efforts, by appropriately discarding their hard-to-recycle items, like dish care packaging.
Fairy and TerraCycle are encouraging cafes and restaurants to sign themselves up as a #FairyCycle Community Collection Hub. Then local customers are free to drop off their hard-to-recycle items. It’s free to participate either way!
Once enough hard-to-recycle items are collected at each Community Collection Hub, TerraCycle sorts, cleans and melts them into remoulded and repurposed items meaning more waste is diverted from landfill.
