TerraCycle COVID-19 Update

18 March 2020

Important information on COVID-19 for all TerraCycle participants

The health and safety of our collectors and their communities is our greatest priority. In light of the growing concerns around Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking extra precautions to minimise the possible spread of illness among the TerraCycle network.

We are closely following the official advice given by the Australian Government and the World Health Organisation, and provide the following updates for our collection programs:

Collecting and sending your waste

While we encourage you to keep collecting at home and building your collections, we recommend social distancing in line with official government and WHO advice.

As of today, Australia Post is still accepting shipments and we are continuing to receive parcels at our warehouse. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will keep you informed of any changes to mailing/warehouse operations as the situation progresses.

Information for visitors to Community Collection Hubs

Check beforehand to confirm if the location is still open and accepting collections. This includes our volunteer-run Community Collection Hubs as well as retail collection locations.

Information for Community Collection Hubs

If you choose to pause your collections at this time, please let your community know. If you wish to continue collecting, we recommend taking additional precautions:

  • Consider using protective equipment such as a mask and gloves when handling any waste
  • Always wash your hands after handling any waste
  • Practice social distancing and other health and hygiene recommendations provided by the government and World Health Organisation
