Yes, you need to send us a shipment within 6 months of your registration to the program and if you are inactive for a 6 month period during any other time you may be removed from the program to enable someone that is on the waiting list and wants to participate to join.

There is no limit to the amount of packaging you can send in. Shipments of any size will receive the TerraCycle point donation. For additional information, please see the “Collect, Store & Ship Guide”, which you can download from the RESOURCES tab located in your account.
Download a pre-paid UPS return label by clicking the “SHIP US YOUR WASTE” icon on the recycling program webpage when logged into your personal account. Click the green “Get Shipping Labels/Supplies” box on the following page and a label will be sent to your email. Print the pre-paid label and affix to a reused box and call UPS at 1-800-742-5877 to schedule a next day pick up.
No, all shipping is free! You will be able to print pre-paid UPS shipping labels from our website through your online account. This will bring your air & home care product packaging collections back to our factory to be recycled into other TerraCycle products. You win, we win, and the environment wins!
Yes. You can select or change the charity through the TerraCycle website for the Air & Home Care Recycling Program. Simply log into your account at www.terracycle.ca and click on the green “My Impact” tab through your profile and select “Manage charities”. Select the option - “New Charity” and fill out all necessary charity information. Please note: Whichever charity you have listed on your account on April 30th and October 31st will be the beneficiary of the funds earned on your account. You can also call 1.800.758.2943 or email [email protected] with the charity name, address, contact person and the registered charity number.
You must redeem your points for a cash donation via your account in order for a cheque to be disbursed to the charity of your choice. Please note there is a minimum of 1,000 points or $10 needed for each cash donation. Cash donations are mailed directly to the charity, twice a year in June and January. All cash donations requested between May 1st and October 31st will be disbursed in January. All cash donations requested between November 1st and April 30th will be disbursed in June.
We accept any size shipment on the Air & Home Care Recycling Program. For each shipment, you will receive 2 points per item sent. You can redeem your points at any time towards a variety of charitable gifts or a cash donation (cheque) to any Canadian based nonprofit or charitable organisation, including schools. No. Each household and organisation can only have one Air & Home Care Recycling Program account. However, more than one Recycling Program can benefit the same charity. If you have any questions please contact [email protected] for clarification.
Signing up for the Air & Home Care Recycling Program is easy! You will need to provide a contact person to oversee the Air & Home Care Recycling Program at your home or location and a valid e-mail and mailing address.
We welcome anyone to join in our recycling efforts, from individuals to large organizations! There are some practical considerations you should keep in mind. For example, our program is not designed to accommodate recycling centres.

Please check with your local council to see if plastic bottle caps (for air care products, and washing up liquid bottles) can be recycled locally – where a solution is available please recycle the caps locally – if no local solution is available these can also be sent in for recycling

We establish an average weight for each waste stream (air & home care products, cigarette waste, cereal bags etc.) collected through a Recycling Program and weigh packages when we receive them at our warehouse. Your account will be credited based on the weight of the package sent in and weighed at TerraCycle facilities, not individually counted units. We accept any size shipment on the Air & Home Care Recycling Program, shipments of any size will be credited with points. TerraCycle credits your shipment by dividing its weight by the average weight of the material sent in on the Air & Home Care Recycling Program (the average weight is 24.5g) to determine the number of units you are credited with. For each 24.5g of weight within your shipment you earn 2 TerraCycle points. Each TerraCycle point can be redeemed for a payment of $0.01 to the Canadian based charity or school of your choice.
