If your shipment weights more than 2 lbs, each piece your location sends in will earn 2 points or $.02 to the non-profit of your choice. Packaging will be counted based on weight, using 28.67 g as the average weight.

There is no limit to the amount of packaging you can send in. Remember you will need to send in at least 2 lbs (approximately 32 units) in one shipment in order to receive the TerraCycle point donation. As long as you have been sending in a slow, steady stream, you are doing well. For additional information, please see the “Shipping Instructions”, which you can download from the RESOURCES tab located on your online account.

If you already have a reused box, you can download your own pre-paid UPS return label by clicking the “SHIP US YOUR WASTE" icon on the program webpage. On the following page, under the Open Farm Recycling Program, click the green “Get Shipping Labels/Supplies” box and a label will be sent to your email. Print the pre-paid label, affix to the reused box and drop off at a local UPS drop off location. Or you can call UPS at 1 800 PICK UPS (742-5877), to arrange a pick up for the next business day.

Yes. You can select, add or change your preferred charities via your account on the TerraCycle website. Simply log into your account and click on the "MY IMPACT" tab. To add a new preferred charity to your account, please select the "Add new charity" button. Please note that during the check out process when redeeming points, you will also be given a chance to choose an existing charitable gift and update or change your preferred charities. You can also call 1 800 758 2943 or email [email protected] with the charity name, address and contact person.

You must redeem your points for a cash donation via your account in order for a cheque to be disbursed to the charity of your choice. Please note, there is a minimum of 1,000 points or $10 needed for each cash donation. Cash donations are mailed directly to the charity, twice a year in June and January. All cash donations requested between May 1st and October 31st will be disbursed in January. All cash donations requested between November 1st and April 30th will be disbursed in June.

If for any reason you need to change or update your information, please select the COLLECTION PROGRAMS tab (located in your profile) and then simply click "Edit My Profile". No. Each individual and organization, including schools or student groups at a school or university, can only have one Open Farm Recycling Program account. Any additional accounts will be suspended. However, more than one Recycling Program can benefit a single school. If you have any questions please contact [email protected]

You will need to provide:

1) A contact person (over 18 yrs old) to oversee the Open Farm Recycling Program at your location

2) A valid e-mail address

3) A valid mailing address If you choose to redeem your points towards a non-profit or charity of your choice, you will also need the mailing address and contact information for the charity.

We welcome anyone from almost any organization to join in our recycling efforts! Note that our program is not designed to accommodate recycling centres.

Only Open Farm Pet Food packaging is accepted though this Recycling Program. TerraCycle cannot accept any other brands of pet food packaging.

Please log into your account on the TerraCycle website. Select the “COLLECTION PROGRAMS” tab and then click the "X" located next to the Open Farm Recycling Program.
