Business Development Associate – Zero Waste Box™ Program

TerraCycle is the world leader in the collection and recycling of post-consumer waste that is generally considered non-recyclable. We recycle everything from pens, toothbrushes, candy wrappers, to cigarette butts and scores of other waste streams that would otherwise be sent to landfills or incinerated. In 2013, TerraCycle launched its newest recycling platform, Zero Waste Boxes. The Zero Waste Box platform empowers businesses and consumers to achieve Zero Waste by purchasing collection boxes for specific types of waste that are traditionally non-recyclable.

The Zero Waste team is looking for a Sales Associate in Toronto, Canada to help expand the Zero Waste Box Program through various marketing and sales strategies. The Sales Associate will build partnerships with commercial brands, manufacturers, retailers, and distributors.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential partners seeking new waste solutions for their products
  • Source contacts and initiate outreach with potential partner companies
  • Create sales presentations, schedule and conduct sales calls
  • Collaborate with internal departments to craft and develop sales resources
  • Work with internal departments to generate custom pricing and marketing campaigns
  • Build, track, and maintain a robust sales pipeline

 

Qualifications:

  • Track record of success in a sales role
  • 1-3 years of sales experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (demonstrates empathy and commitment to the client with the ability to manage expectations)
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • High energy team player
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment and juggle multiple responsibilities amidst tight deadlines and multiple priorities
  • BA/BS preferred
