The Kimtech™ Apparel Recycling Programme - FAQ

Also known as the RightCycle® Programme by Kimberly-Clark Professional™

Anyone based in mainland UK or the Isle of Wight can participate in our recycling programmes. Unfortunately people based in the following locations cannot participate at this time: the Hebrides, Isle of Man, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands, Isles of Scilly, Jersey or Guernsey. This is due to logistical reasons but please be assured the TerraCycle® Operations Team are looking into solutions for us to provide free recycling programmes in these locations in the future. We apologise for any inconvenience.

To register your interest in the programme please complete the form found here - a KCP™ representative will then contact you in due course. In order to participate in the recycling programme, you must be approved by KCP™. Once approved TerraCycle® will be in direct contact to set up your account and provide all necessary details and materials to launch the collection at your site.

We accept only disposable apparel from Kimtech™. Disposable apparel of any other brands are not accepted by TerraCycle®. Furthermore, we cannot accept Kimtech™ apparel that are contaminated, according to the European-wide list of wastes Regulation (AVV) as they are considered dangerous and must be disposed of properly. These include:

  • Disposable apparel, which according to AVV waste key are categorized as 15 02 02 and are contaminated by dangerous substances (E.g. chemicals).
  • Disposable apparel, which according to AVV waste key are categorized as 18 01 04 and are tainted with blood, secretions or excreta.
  • Disposable apparel, which according to AVV waste key are categorized as 18 01 03 and are fraught with reportable pathogens, if a spread of the disease is to be feared.

We recommend you provide your employees with collection boxes or a bin liner close to where they exchange and dispose of their used Kimtech™ apparel. Please ask your KCP™ representative for labels that can be put on the collection boxes to identify them as receptacles for used apparel. When the collection box or bin liner is full, transfer your collected apparel into the bulk bag (provided by KCP™).

To request resources that you can use to inform all employees in the company about the collection programme, please contact KCP™ by emailing

The apparel items are initially stored by our logistics partner. When we’ve collected a sufficient amount of disposable apparel from all the different participating companies in the Kimtech™ Apparel Recycling Programme, we start with the recycling process. We try to recycle the disposable apparel as locally as possible and with the available and most up-to-date technologies and infrastructures. The apparels made from nitrile and Latex are processed using an extruder to produce plastic granules, which serves as a secondary raw material for new plastic products. Disposable apparel can be further processed in order to become the raw materials used to make the likes of park benches, waste bins, or watering cans.

If you decide to stop running the programme in your company, please contact our team via email at or call freephone 01465 915018 to let us know.
