Recycle your baby food pouches and snack packets
TerraCycle and Ella's Kitchen® have partnered to create EllaCycle, a free recycling programme for any brand of baby food pouches and Ella’s Kitchen’s snack wrappers, and a fundraising opportunity for participants.
There are 3 different ways to become an EllaCycler:
Find your nearest public drop-off location on the interactive map above and drop off your baby food pouches and snack wrappers – all brands are accepted.
To learn more about public drop-off locations, please click here.
If there are no public drop-off locations near you, you can set up your own in a convenient location where you have the authorisation to do so. Simply follow the steps below:
To learn more about what public drop-off locations are and what it involves to set up one, please click here.
To request your EllaCycle collection box, tick the box in the form. Once the public drop-off point has been set up, the location will appear on the map.
If there is no public drop-off location already in place where you live, or that you are not able to set up your own, then you have the option to sign up as a private collector by clicking on “join programme for free" on this page.
Once you are a member of the programme (either by setting up a public drop-off location or collecting privately) and when you are ready to send a shipment, please follow these steps:
4.Simply book a free pick-up via UPS by calling 03457 877 877 or book online via this link. Alternatively, you can also drop off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point, which you can find here.
To receive TerraCycle® points for your shipment (which you can then redeem for the charity) , please ensure it weighs more than 5kg.
Please check out our Accepted Waste Poster below for more details.
Make sure all excess product has been removed (i.e food residue) and place all baby food pouches and snack wrappers in a box, including the lids. Tape the box together securely ensuring there are no loose edges or corners. Print your label and attach it securely to the shipment.
Once collected, the baby food pouches and snack wrappers are cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.
TerraCycle® points are credited to the accounts of public drop-off location administrators and private collectors as a reward for their collection efforts. The number of points given is determined by the total weight of the shipment. 1 TerraCycle® point is worth 1 penny.
Once credited, the points can be redeemed into financial donations to the charity or school chosen by the owner of the points. The points must be redeemed on the TerraCycle® website.
Here is the reward this programme offers:
5 kilograms of baby food pouches = 0 TerraCycle® points
7 kilograms of baby food pouches = 1,555 TerraCycle® points
10 kilograms of baby food pouches = 2,222 TerraCycle® points
Please be aware, the weight of the cardboard box is not taken into account. TerraCycle® recommends public drop-off location administrators and private collectors to send more than the minimum weight to ensure points are awarded.
