Recycle all pet food plastic pouches and flexible plastic bags through this programme
Recycling in partnership with Purina PetCare® and Cats Protection
TerraCycle® has partnered with Bakers®, Felix® and Purina® to create a free recycling programme for pet food plastic pouches and flexible plastic bags. You can drop off your pet food packaging across selected Cats Protection centres and charity shops.

What you can recycle in this programme

What happens to this waste
Once collected, the aggregated plastic pet food packaging are sorted, shredded and washed. Food residue is composted. The material is then densified into hard-granulated plastic granules. The granules are then extruded so they can be incorporated into the production of different plastic products such as fence posts and benches.

Rewards
This programme offers 50 TerraCycle® points for each kilogram of flexible plastic pet food packaging sent. However, the points will only be awarded if the parcel reaches the minimum weight of 7 kilograms.
For example:
500 grams of plastic pet food packaging = 0 TerraCycle® points
7 kilograms of plastic pet food packaging = 350 TerraCycle® points
10 kilograms of plastic pet food packaging = 500 TerraCycle® points
Please note that TerraCycle® points are only credited to the accounts of the Cats Protection centres and charity shops as a reward for their collection efforts. The number of points given is determined by the weight of the parcel. 1 TerraCycle® point is worth 1 penny.
Once credited, the points can be redeemed into financial donations to the charity or school chosen by the owner of the points. The points must be redeemed on the TerraCycle® website.
