Recycle with Tassimo and L'OR through the Hub and Spoke Model

TerraCycle has partnered with Tassimo and L'OR to create a free recycling programme for Tassimo T DISCs, outer packaging, L'OR capsules, Kenco Eco Refill packs and coffee jar lids.

Thanks to the help of thousands of collectors, we have been able to recycle more than 25 million pieces of Tassimo waste and L'OR capsules and raise more than £308,000 for schools, charities and Non-Profits in the UK. The numbers you see above relate to the Hub and Spoke model only.

This programme is run through public Hub and Spoke locations only.

You can drop off your Tassimo, L'OR and Kenco waste at any of the existing network of public Hub and Spoke locations that you can locate on our interactive map. Please use the post code search facility on the map below to find your nearest location.

A public Hub and Spoke location is a communal collection point where the public can take their TerraCycle waste for recycling. Each public Hub and Spoke location is listed on the interactive map above. When you drop off your waste at a public Hub and Spoke location, the TerraCycle points earned for the waste are transferred to the account of the public Hub and Spoke location administrator in question, who can then donate the points to the charity of their choice.

Before you go to a public Hub and Spoke location with your waste, we advise you check the details (full address, opening hours and location of collection box at the site) and when a telephone number is listed it’s worth calling just to ensure the collection point is still active.

This map is updated when new public Hub and Spoke locations are added or removed, so we recommend you consult it in advance of each time you plan to drop off your waste.

How it works

The Tassimo® & L'OR® Recycling Programme only works through a network of public Hub and Spoke locations. Thanks to the interactive map, you can find the closest public Hub and Spoke location by simply entering your post code in the search bar. Then you just have to drop your Tassimo waste and L'OR capsules at the address indicated during business hours. The person in charge of the public Hub and Spoke location will send the Tassimo waste and L'OR capsules to TerraCycle® for recycling.

Best practices for collecting

Drop off your Tassimo waste and L'OR capsules into the pallet box without any plastic bags.

What happens to this waste

Once collected, the Tassimo T-DISCs, foil wraps, L'OR capsules, Kenco Eco Refll packs and coffee jar lids are cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.

Rewards

This programme offers the following reward

TerraCycle® points are credited to the accounts of public drop-off location administrators as a reward for their collection efforts. The number of points given is determined by the total weight of the shipment. 1 TerraCycle® point is worth 1 penny.

Once credited, the points can be redeemed into financial donations to the charity or school chosen by the owner of the points. The points must be redeemed on the TerraCycle® website.
