Recycling in partnership with Weleda®

TerraCycle® has partnered with Weleda® to ensure that Weleda® packaging that is not easily recyclable in the UK via local kerbside, can now be recycled through this programme. TerraCycle® points earned through public drop-off locations supported by Weleda® Wellbeing Advisors will go towards the Whitely Fund for Nature who is supporting the Global Penguin Society conservation charity.

Read our 'how it works' section below to learn more about the three ways you can participate.

This map is constantly being updated

Use a public drop-off location near you

View all participating public drop-off locations on the interactive map above.

A public drop-off location is a communal collection point where the public can take their TerraCycle® waste for recycling. Each public drop-off location is listed on the interactive map above. When you drop off your waste at a public drop-off location, the TerraCycle® points earned for the waste are transferred to the account of the public drop-off location administrator in question, who can then donate the points to the charity of their choice.

Before you go to a public drop-off location with your waste, we advise you check the details (full address, opening hours and location of collection box at the site) and when a telephone number is listed it’s worth calling just to ensure the collection point is still active.

This map is updated when new public drop-off locations are added or removed, so we recommend you consult it in advance of each time you plan to drop off your waste.

Establish your public drop-off location

Establishing a public drop-off location will allow you to collect even more Weleda® Soft Touch Plastic Tubes and will enable you to earn more points directly on your TerraCycle® account for the charity or the school of your choice. Where communities collect together it also means larger and more sustainable shipments of waste can be sent in for recycling.

A public drop-off location has to be accessible for any members of your community to recycle their waste and can be set-up nearly anywhere (for example good locations for this new programme could be a local shop or community centre).

If you have found a good location to establish your local public drop-off location, simply register the site by joining the programme (click on "join programme for free" above) and by filling in this application form

How it works

Participating is completely free and very easy, there are 3 ways to participate:

1. Search on the interactive map above to see if you have a public drop-off location close by. If there is one, then simply take your accepted waste to the public drop-off location and drop them off during the designated hours.

2. If there isn’t a public drop-off location in place already in your community then you could set up your own public drop-off location. To do so, please join the programme by clicking on "join programme for free" and then fill in this form to complete the process.

3. If there isn’t one already in place where you live, or you aren’t able to set up your own, then you have the option to sign up as a private collector by clicking on "join programme for free" on this page.

As soon as you are a member of the programme (options 2 and 3) and when you want to post a shipment, download a free UPS label from your account, attach it to your shipment and then simply order a free pick-up via UPS by calling 03457 877 877 or book a collection online here. UPS will then collect from your location. You can also drop-off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point, which you can find here

This programme offers the following reward

TerraCycle® points are credited to the accounts of public drop-off location administrators and private collectors as a reward for their collection efforts. The number of points given is determined by the total weight of the shipment. 1 TerraCycle® point is worth 1 penny.

Once credited, the points can be redeemed into financial donations to the charity or school chosen by the owner of the points. The points must be redeemed on the TerraCycle® website.

Here is the reward this programme offers:

Natural and organic skincare brand Weleda® was first founded in 1921 and from the very first day sustainability and respect for nature has been at its heart. Whilst all Weleda® packaging is designed to be recycled, some mixed plastic packaging may not be easily recyclable in the UK via local kerbside collection schemes. So Weleda® has partnered with TerraCyle® to ensure that no Weleda® packaging need go to landfill.
