The Eco-Council Project FAQ

How do I take part?

If you’re a council member, please get in touch with us using this form.

If you’re a resident and you’d like your council to get involved with us, reach out to your council representatives and tell them to contact us using this Twitter and/or Facebook share links!

Is it free?

Yes. Our programmes are sponsored by our brand partners so there is no cost for your council or your council’s residents.

Where should I set up a public drop-off point?

Public spaces with flowing traffic and easily accessible are excellent drop-off points. Recycling centres, stores, community centres, places of worship, and libraries are all great options. Our collection boxes come with a lid, so they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor locations.

Which types of waste are accepted?

Here’s a list of our participating programmes - click on each of them to find out more about which items you can recycle:

How do I send you my waste?

Once the collection box is filled with collected rubbish, you can request a pick-up using an online form. We then arrange the collection within 72 hours (excluding weekends), and provide you with an empty collection box to continue collecting.

How can I raise funds for charity?

Every time we pick up a full collection box, your council will get TerraCycle points redeemable as a monetary donation for your chosen charity. Check out this page to find out the different requirements to get points.

To add your charity to our list of eligible ones, please fill out this form.
