General Manager, Loop France

We are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to manage the French Loop Team. This position will start by a few months of training and on-boarding at our European office in London before being full time based in Paris, France. The ideal candidate will have proven track record of hiring and building teams, delivering operational efficiency, building strong relationships with clients, partners and potential investors, driving sales results, and achieving top and bottom line growth.

In conjunction with several of the largest and most prominent consumer products companies in the world, TerraCycle is advancing an international initiative advancing the future of packaging. This initiative – named Loop - is a ground-breaking step towards the end of single-use disposable materials and the beginning of a circular economy for the consumer goods industry. Loop has been announced at the World Economic Forum at Davos in January 2019 and received both tremendous feedback from the media as well as from consumers all around the world that have already registered onto the platform.

In May 2019, we launched our first pilot accessible on www.maboutiqueloop.fr, in partnership with our retail partner Carrefour and an important and growing number of large and smaller brands (Evian, Tropicana, Ariel, Carrefour Bio, Lesieur, Les Petits Bidons, Brâam, etc.). This standalone e-commerce platform is accessible to consumers in Paris/Parisian area and will be expanding to more regions in the coming months as well as being accessible directly through the existing Carrefour e-shop and other e-commerce retailers. Moving forward the Loop service will also be accessible in physical retail stores, enabling a large number of consumers to access the platform and for the Loop model quickly move to scale-up.

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to manage the French Loop Team. This position will start by a few months of training and on-boarding at our European office in London before being full time based in Paris, France.
The ideal candidate will have proven track record of hiring and building teams, delivering operational efficiency, building strong relationships with clients, partners and potential investors, driving sales results, and achieving top and bottom line growth.
The General Manager will report into the European GM of TerraCycle/Loop France with a dotted line to the CEO based in our global HQ in Trenton (New Jersey, US) and work closely with the global and European department leads. The GM will be managing a small team of people, starting with the Operations and Retail account management and will be building a larger local team overtime.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES –                                                                                       

  • Work closely with the global and European team to understand the project targets and develop a strategy relevant to the French market in order to achieve company goals, drive Loop e-commerce sales, and increase the level of consumer engagement
  • In collaboration with the operations’ team, develop and maintain KPI reporting for order fulfillment, shipping and returns to ensure order fulfillment process meets/exceeds customer expectations and costs are managed effectively
  • Implement new processes and procedures across the business
  • Create strategies and processes that deliver results using detailed analytics to optimize product selection and enhance the customer experience
  • Set company budgets and forecasts alongside the EU GM and finance director
  • Lead the company’s strategic growth plan, including the identification of new market opportunities
  • Support the commercial development of Loop France by working closely with the business development team to recruit a large variety of brands and retail partners
  • Represent the company in front of strategic partners, clients, investors, media
  • Research regulatory aspects and implemented necessary processes to ensure that the Loop French business is compliant with local regulations
  • Look for opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the business
  • Source, select and develop high potential talent
  • Consistently inspire the team to achieve results and perform at a high level
  • Build strong relationships with clients, partners, investors 

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS –

  • Significant experience in general / business unit management position or similar, growing early-stage businesses from concept/small scale to large scale
  • Several years of active experience in e-commerce, retail, food, FMCGs
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with an international team based in global locations
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, staffing
  • Natural leader and motivator of people
  • Strong strategic and creative problem-solving skills
  • Thrives in high pressure situations while working through complex projects
  • A strong interest/passion in sustainability and innovation as well as for the mission and vision of the company
  • An active professional network in a relevant space

COMPENSATION:
