The Green School Project

At TerraCycle, we recycle items that aren’t recycled kerbside. Join the Green School Project and become a recycling hub by sending us your hard-to-recycle rubbish. Teach the importance of recycling, empower future generations to take action, do your bit for the planet… and raise funds for your school!

Recycle with TerraCycle to help empower future generations and encourage your community to drop off accepted items from our many recycling programmes. This will help you teach your students about sustainability and prevent hard-to-recycle rubbish from ending up in landfills, whilst raising funds for your school.

How It Works

  1. Create a TerraCycle account for your school.
  2. Join our free recycling programmes. See our participating programmes here!
  3. Set up a recycling hub at your school.
  4. Spread the word and let your students, teachers and staff know they can help recycle rubbish that can't typically be recycled kerbside.
  5. When your collection box is full, download a free shipping label for each programme and send us your rubbish to be recycled.

  6. You’ll receive TerraCycle points to redeem for great rewards! Find out more in the ‘Recycle and get rewards’ section below.

Recycle and get rewards

You can #RecycleEverything through our free recycling programmes. This includes Pringles® tubes, cheese packaging, toys, and many more! Send us your rubbish for recycling to earn TerraCycle points which can then be exchanged as monetary donations for your school (T&Cs apply).

Here are other ways you can get even more points:

  • Join one of our participating programmes and we’ll give you 500 TerraCycle points (£5).
  • For every 5 valid shipments containing rubbish accepted in the participating programmes you send us, we’ll give you 5,000 TerraCycle points (£50). (Offer ends 22nd May 2023)
  • Refer another school or branch of your school and you’ll get an extra 1,000 TerraCycle points (£10) when they send their first shipment. Been referred by another school? Fill out this form after signing up to earn them the extra points!
