TerraCycle’s shipping options for free recycling programmes

Here are some helpful tips on how to send your shipment to us for recycling, including a paperless option.

Shipping with InPost

InPost makes sending your rubbish easy with thousands of self-service lockers across the UK. No printer needed!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Pack your box securely with only the accepted items listed for your programme.
  2. Request your QR code label from your TerraCycle account or programme page.
  3. Take your box to a nearby InPost locker—find your nearest one on the InPost location map.
  4. Scan your QR code at the locker.
  5. Place your box inside the locker. InPost will handle the rest.

  • Maximum parcel size: 41 × 38 × 64 cm.
  • Maximum weight: 15 kg.

  • Make sure your parcel is well sealed and free of old shipping labels.
  • Drop off your parcel within 7 days of generating your QR code.

Shipping with FedEx

FedEx offers both drop-off and collection options. You’ll need to print and attach your shipping label.

Prepare your shipment

  • Pack securely and measure/weigh each parcel (accurate details help avoid surcharges for TerraCycle)
  • Print your free shipping label from your TerraCycle account or programme page.
  • Remove any old labels and attach your new one clearly.

 

Option 1: Book a collection

Schedule a pickup online: FedEx pickup booking.

  1.  Choose drop-off or collection and click let’s start.
  2. To validate the label, enter your FedEx tracking number (under the barcode, no spaces) and the postal code that appears on the ship from section of your shipping label (top left corner).
  3. The pick-up address is automatically filled with your shipping address that appears on the label. If you want a pick up from this address, then review the address, add your contact details and parcel details.
  4. If you want a pick-up from a different address, please add your address in the section "use a different address," then add your contact details and parcel details.
  5. Choose your collection date/time window and add any instructions (e.g. reception, access code). Please note that you can only request a collection for the same day or the day after. If you need the collection to be organised at a later date, please come back the day before to organise your collection. 
  6.  Accept the Terms & Conditions and confirm. Keep your confirmation number.

  • Requests before 1:00 p.m. → Same-day pickup (where available).
  • Requests after 1:00 p.m. → Next business day (earliest).
  • Exact times vary by location.

 

  • Phone: 03456 00 00 68 (Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00, Sat 08:00–13:00).
  • Chat: Use the web chat option on the FedEx site.

  • One parcel: max 30 kg with dimensions of max 100 cm x 70 cm x 70 cm.
  • Multiple parcels: book as one pickup, state the total number of parcels and combined weight.

  • Schedule collections early in the day where possible.
  • Ensure parcels are ready and accessible at the collection point.
  • Keep your confirmation number in case you need to reschedule.

Option 2: Drop off your parcel

  1. Pack and seal your package
  2. Attach your shipping label
  3. Drop off at a location: Find your nearest one here (over 4,500 locations available).

  • Maximum parcel weight: 15 kg 
  • Maximum parcel size: 90 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm

  • Ensure your package has the correct dimensions and weight
  • Ensure the label is securely attached to the biggest surface of the package and not across any seams or edges.
