L'OR & Moccona Capsules Recycling Programme - FAQ

Recycle L'OR & Moccona coffee capsules through this programme

This programme will only accept L'OR coffee capsules made of aluminium. Capsules from other brands will not be accepted.

You do not need to wash out the capsules to send them for recycling. During the processing the coffee grounds will be separated and composted at our end.

Every item of waste received by TerraCycle will be recycled into new products. When we receive your L'OR capsules we store them at our warehouse until we’ve collected a large enough quantity to process the aluminium by cleaning and shredding it into small pieces which can be melted and recycled into new products. 

There is a maximum weight of 25kg allowed per shipping label. 

For environmental reasons we want to limit the amount of transportation. So bulk is better. Therefore, we request that your shipments weigh at least 2 kg, which is about 200 capsules.

When you are ready to send in a shipment, login to your account at www.terracycle.co.nz and click "REQUEST A POSTAGE LABEL”. Select the "Send Me a Postage Label" option and TerraCycle will email a New Zealand Post pre-paid return label to you. Print the pre-paid label and affix it to your reused box or bag and bring it to a local New Zealand Post Office.

All postage costs are paid for by L'OR. 

If for any reason you need to change or update your information, please visit www.terracycle.co.nz, select the PROFILE tab (located on your account) and click "Edit My Profile". If you still need assistance or have questions please contact Customer Support at 0800 474 016. 

Each organisation, including schools or student groups at a school or university, can only have one L'OR coffee capsules recycling programme account. If there are multiple individuals within an organisation that sign-up, please ensure the accounts are clearly differentiated (by floor, division, location etc).

TerraCycle® recycling programmes are open to people from all locations in New Zealand, no matter where you are.

We welcome anyone from almost any organisation in New Zealand to join in our recycling efforts! There are some practical considerations your organisations should keep in mind. For example, our programme is not designed to accommodate recycling centres.

Yes. You can select, add or change your preferred non- profit organisation via your account on the TerraCycle website. Simply log into your account at www.terracycle.co.nz and click on the "MY IMPACT" tab. To add a new preferred non- profit organisation to your account, please select the "Manage Charities" link. Please note that during the cheque out process when redeeming points, you will also be given a chance to choose an existing charitable gift and update or change your preferred non- profit organisation. You can also call 0800 474 016 with the non- profit organisation name, address and contact person.

Please note that this recycling programme does not offer TerraCycle points.​

You must redeem your points for a money donation via your account in order for a cheque to be disbursed to the non- profit organisation of your choice. Please note, there is a minimum of 1,000 points or $10 needed for each money donation. Cheques for money donations are mailed directly to the non-profit organisation, twice a year in June and December. All money donations requested between 1 May and 31 October will be disbursed in December. All money donations requested between 1 November and 30 April will be disbursed in June.
