As the world commemorates Global Recycling Day on March 18, TerraCycle, an international leader in sustainability, invites individuals, businesses, organizations and communities to join the journey towards a circular economy. For more than two decades, TerraCycle has pioneered first-of-their-kind recycling solutions as part of their mission to eliminate waste and develop practical solutions for today’s complex waste challenges.

“TerraCycle remains at the forefront of recycling innovation, developing new ways to collect and process materials that have long been considered unrecyclable,” said Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO of TerraCycle. “Our in-house team of scientists and material application specialists work every day to push the boundaries of what can be recycled, helping us move the word from a linear economy to a circular one.”

National Snack Food Month: Wrap Up Waste by Recycling Your Snack Wrappers

It’s National Snack Food Month and Americans are reportedly snacking more than ever. While single-serving snacks are all the rage, an unfortunate side effect is that their packaging tends to end up in landfills and incinerators. This National Snack Food Month international recycling leader TerraCycle is asking snackers to put a wrap on throwing away snack and candy wrappers and instead recycle the waste.

Most wrappers are made from a mix of materials like polypropylene, aluminum foil, and paper that are not typically accepted by municipal recycling services. That’s why TerraCycle offers free and paid recycling solutions to keep multi-layer packaging, like chip bags, candy wrappers, and more out of the trash.

“Snack foods wrapped in single-use packaging are popular because they are convenient,” said Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO of TerraCycle. “That’s why we offer a variety of TerraCycle’s recycling solutions to make recycling easy and simple.”
