No, the Rubbermaid Food Storage Recycling Program accepts food storage containers from all brands.
Rubbermaid® has sponsored this free recycling program, so there is no direct cost to you.
We encourage you to ship when your box is full of food storage containers to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program. UPS will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.
No, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before shipping.
Because we want to keep this program open for as many people as possible, there’s a limit of ONE outstanding label per user. That means you can’t download a label if you already have an outstanding label on your account. Please use your outstanding label to send in your next shipment.
If you’re unable to download a label, you can check to see if you have any outstanding labels on your account by following these steps:
Visit terracycle.com
Click the profile icon in the upper right. If necessary, sign in using your account username and password.
Go to “My programs”
Click “View shipping labels” under the Rubbermaid® Food Storage Free Recycling Program
Use your outstanding label to ship!
If you don’t have an outstanding label and you’re still unable to download a label, please contact us at customersupport@terracycle.com.
Once collected, the well-used food storage containers are cleaned and separated by material type. The materials are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products. Click here to take a virtual tour of our processing facilities.
