How it works

Participating is simple and free.

  1. Sign up for the program. If you don’t have a TerraCycle account yet, create one here

  2. Once in the program, start collecting Terra snack packaging in any box you have.

  3. When your collection box is full, log into your account to download and print a shipping label.

  4. Seal up your collection box, affix the printed shipping label onto it. Send via UPS.

Best practices for recycling

We encourage you to ship when your box is full of Terra® snack packaging to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program. You don’t need to clean the packaging before sending it to TerraCycle, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible (i.e. chip crumbs). UPS will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.

What happens to your recyclables

Once collected, the Terra® snack packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products, such as park benches and picnic tables. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.

Rewards

Shipments in the Terra® Recycling Program must be at least 5 pounds to earn TerraCycle points. For all qualifying shipments, 100 points per pound will be awarded.

Awarded TerraCycle points can be allocated toward a variety of charitable gifts or redeemed as a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice. Each piece of Terra® snack packaging sent in will earn approximately 1.20 TerraCycle points and will be counted based on an average unit weight of 0.012 pounds.
