Local Recycling Solutions

When your Tide Eco-Box is empty, separate the plastic packaging (plastic packaging wrap, bag, dispensing cup, nozzle and nozzle clip) from the cardboard box and ship the plastic components to TerraCycle through this program to be recycled.

The cardboard box is recyclable through most curbside recycling programs. If you don’t have access to curbside recycling, use our interactive map below to find a local municipal recycling solution for the Eco-Box cardboard carton. If no recycling solution exists in your area, include the cardboard in your shipment through this program.

Please note, this map is constantly being updated with new locations, so check back frequently!

How it works

Participating is completely free and very easy.

Separate the plastic components of the box from the cardboard carton and join the Tide Eco-Box Recycling Program at the top of this page to collect and ship these typically unrecyclable items.

To dispose of the box, use our interactive map above to search for available recycling options near you, and after using don’t forget to rate your experience.

What you can recycle in this program

Program accepted waste: Plastic packaging wrap; bag; dispensing cup; nozzle and nozzle clip.

Best practices for recycling

In order to recycle this waste stream properly, please make sure all excess product has been removed (i.e. leftover detergent). Additionally, if you choose to rinse your product, please note that it must be completely dry prior to shipping. You cannot ship dripping packages.

HOW TO NAVIGATE THE INTERACTIVE MAP

Begin by typing in your address. (If there are no recycling options nearby, you may include the cardboard carton in your shipment through this program.)

You may zoom in or out of the map to narrow or broaden your search by clicking the plus/minus buttons on the bottom right corner of the map.

Browse and select from available recycling options. Available locations will be listed to the left of the map. Click on a card for more information about that location or on the map directly.

VARIOUS OPTIONS FOR RECYCLING

Drop-off locations: Locations marked with a recycling symbol represent places where you can drop off your cardboard for recycling. These are typically retailers, local recycling centers or other public locations.

Municipal recycling areas: Regions colored red represent townships that offer free local recycling services. These are typically curbside pickup recycling services. If you fall inside the highlighted region, your cardboard can be placed in your home recycling bin.

Disclaimer of damages: Any public and other recycling facilities, including TerraCycle’s collection locations, that are identified by TerraCycle hereunder are not under the control or influence of TerraCycle therefore, neither TerraCycle nor Tide are responsible for any losses or damages to any personal possessions and/or property that may occur when accessing such facility.

What happens to the waste

Once collected, the packaging is cleaned and melted into plastic pellets that can be remolded to make new recycled products. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.

Rewards

TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts, product bundles, or a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice. To learn more about our points program, click here.
