Local Recycling Solutions

Many fabric care products, such as the Tide Eco-Box, are packaged with cardboard or paperboard, which are widely recyclable through curbside programs.

Please use the interactive map below to find one near you! If no local recycling solution exists in your area, include the cardboard in your shipments through this program.

Please note, this map is constantly being updated with new locations, so check back frequently!

How it works

Participating is simple and free.

  1. Sign up for the program. If you don’t have a TerraCycle account yet, create one here

  2. Once in the program, start collecting fabric care products and packaging in any box you have.

  3. When your collection box is full, log into your account to download and print a shipping label.

  4. Seal up your collection box, affix the printed shipping label onto it. Send via UPS.

What you can recycle

All non-recyclable fabric care products and packaging from brands Tide, Gain, Downy & Dreft, including plastic components (dispensing cup, bag, nozzle, nozzle clip), and plastic packaging wrap, flexible plastic bags, rigid plastic tubs and lids, and Tide To Go pen

Note: This program does NOT include Tide Wipes.

Best practices for recycling

We encourage you to ship when your box is full of fabric care products and packaging to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program. You don’t need to clean the packaging before sending it to TerraCycle, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible (i.e. leftover detergent). UPS will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.

What happens to your recyclables

Once collected, the fabric care products and packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products, such as park benches and picnic tables. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.

Rewards

Shipments in the Tide Recycling Program can be any weight to earn points, and 100 points per pound will be awarded.

Awarded TerraCycle points can be allocated toward a variety of charitable gifts or redeemed as a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice. Each piece of fabric care products and packaging sent in will earn approximately 5 TerraCycle points and will be counted based on an average unit weight of .05 pounds.
