To ensure the safety of our facilities, our team, and the environment, please review these important guidelines before shipping your Zero Waste Box to TerraCycle.
We specialize in recycling hard-to-recycle items, and we need your help to make the process work smoothly:
• Empty products: Please use as much product from the item you're recycling as possible to avoid spills or contamination. Note: Coffee capsules, pods, discs, and packs do not have to be cleaned or emptied.
• Guidelines for box-specific waste: For more specific details on what items are accepted in your specific box, please click here.
To meet health, safety, and legal requirements, TerraCycle strictly prohibits the collection of the following:

• Hazardous materials: We cannot accept anything that is toxic, corrosive, reactive, flammable, radioactive, or infectious.

• Loose batteries: We do not accept loose dry cell or lithium-ion batteries in our Zero Waste Boxes.

• Medical sharps and biohazardous contamination. We do not accept any materials that pose a biological hazard. This includes medical sharps (such as needles or lancets) and any material soiled with blood or bodily fluids.

• Controlled substances: We cannot accept legally controlled substances under any circumstances. This includes all prescribed medicine, cannabis products, and their containers.

Your privacy is important. If any personal information is present on the items you are sending to us for recycling (such as name, address, or medical details), it must be shredded, defaced, or removed before placing the item into the collection container.
If you are ever unsure whether an item is safe to send, please contact TerraCycle customer care for clarification at customercare@terracycle.com
