Which SalonCycle product is right for me?
Choosing the right product for your salon depends on your specific needs as a business. If you own a salon, we would recommend opting for a box over a bag, simply because it can store more waste. If you are an independent stylist or have a suite style location, a bag might be a better option for you.If you need to recycle a bit of everything, the Mixed Salon Waste Box is popular because it is so versatile, and accepts most salon waste. If you find that your salon generates a specific type of waste, such as human hair or excess color, we offer specific products for these needs.
How does SalonCycle work?
Get started with SalonCycle in just three simple steps:
Order: SalonCycle boxes (or bags) for your salon.
Collect: Place the SalonCycle boxes in designated high-traffic areas to easily collect your salon waste
Ship and Recycle: Once your box or bag is full, send it back to TerraCycle using the prepaid shipping label that is already affixed to your box or bag.
Is there an enrollment fee to get started? Membership or annual fees?
Get up front, and set pricing with no hidden costs. This is pay-as-you-go, and there is no membership required!
What happens to my recycling?
The collected waste is sorted and then processed into raw materials that are used to make new products. Discover our recycling process here.
How do I return my box or bag when it’s full?
When your bag or box is full, simply tape the top opening shut. Your box or bag will arrive with a prepaid return shipping label already attached. You can either leave it for UPS to take when they make a delivery or drop it off at your local UPS location.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Apple Pay, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
How much does shipping cost?
Products come with a prepaid shipping label for return delivery.
When will my order arrive?
Orders are typically shipped out 2-3 business days after the order is placed. All orders ship via UPS and can take 1-6 business days to arrive.
Do you have any marketing material?
SalonCycle provides you and your stylists with access to our Social Media Toolkit. The toolkit gives you the digital assets and marketing material to help promote your green salon and new partnership with SalonCycle. As an eco-friendly salon, it is so important to communicate your recycling efforts and all the positive environmental impacts you are making by partnering with SalonCycle. Utilize our toolkit to attract eco-conscious clientele and talent by demonstrating your commitment to the community and environment.
Can I recycle wigs and synthetic hair through SalonCycle?
Yes! We now offer Synthetic Hair Recycling Box. This accepts synthetic wigs without the cap, extensions, and trimmings.
What is accepted and what is not accepted in the Mixed Salon Waste Box?
The Mixed Salon Waste Box accepts several different categories of waste such as metal, plastics, paper, break room waste, and personal protective equipment. Color tubes and used foils are accepted metals. You can recycle plastics such as product containers, pumps, triggers, packaging, and lids. Some examples of accepted paper waste include magazines, newspapers, paper, packaging, and cardboard. You can recycle your break room waste such as coffee capsules, empty cups, and snack wrappers. This is a great box to have in your waiting area so customers can recycle complimentary items such as coffee pods, and wrappers.
Items that are NOT accepted in the Mixed Salon Waste Box or Bag include:
Wigs and synthetic hair, human hair, fake nails, waxing products, organics, liquid hair color.
