Government Grant Manager

The Government Grant Manager is a unique role for a resourceful, govenment affairs-oriented individual looking for an exceptional opportunity in the sustainability field.

We recycle everything from pens, toothbrushes and candy wrappers to cigarette butts and scores of other waste streams that would otherwise be sent to landfills or incinerated. With increasing conversations around the “Circular Economy”, there has been a boost in public funding around the world for businesses to further support the realization of cities and countries climate goals. The Government Grant Manager will oversee and implement a global development program whereby TerraCycle would apply for, independently or in conjunction with local waste management companies, NGO’s and municipalities, government funding to recycle waste that is currently not locally recyclable.

The Government Grant Manager is a unique role for a resourceful, government affairs-oriented individual looking for an exceptional opportunity in the sustainability field. The position will either be based in Trenton, NJ (our global headquarters) or in London (our European hub) and would be positioned within the Executive department. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish sources for appropriate grant funding.
  • In conjunction with country managers and various departmental leads, develop optimal positioning and where appropriate, co-applicants/partners for TerraCycle’s grant applications. 
  • Manage grant application process (supplemental materials, meetings) and execution of agreements for successful applications.
  • Oversee TerraCycle grant-funded programs to ensure regulation compliance.
  • Manage and fulfill reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with the grantor and internal teams, following grantor guidelines, and evaluate/optimize TerraCycle program performance.

Qualifications

  • Previous success in government grant writing and grants process management
  • 5 years minimum relevant professional experience
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills
  • 4-year college degree
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong public presentation and negotiation skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint & Excel
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, can-do attitude, creative mind, and problem solving skills
