Creative Marketing Director

TerraCycle is seeking a bold and charismatic Creative Marketing Director to develop engaging marketing campaigns for the TerraCycle brand as well as our current and potential partners.

TerraCycle is the world leader in the collection and recycling of post-consumer waste that is generally considered “non-recyclable.”  In over 20 countries, we collect billions of pieces of waste, mostly made up of plastic packaging that is otherwise destined for landfill or incineration.  By collecting coherent waste streams (millions of chip bags, millions of drink pouches, millions of safety glasses, etc.), we are able to use third party facilities to recycle these waste streams into a format that can be used by third party manufacturers.

About the role:

TerraCycle is seeking a bold and charismatic Creative Marketing Director to develop engaging marketing strategies for the TerraCycle brand as well as our current and potential partners. The Creative Director works within the Marketing department, in coordination with Business Development, Account Management, Graphics and Design teams to develop unique marketing strategies and oversee the implementation of those marketing plans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work with TerraCycle’s Brand Partnership team to identify key opportunities that bring value to our brand partners through content creation, marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the internal TerraCycle team to develop and manage the creative strategy for TerraCycle brand equity as well as new and current lines of business.
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content. Work alongside other marketing team to strategize the distribution of content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates to create and maintain a consistent voice and message across all recycling program and platforms.
  • Direct graphic design and digital media staff in the production or all marketing collateral for current and potential partnerships.
  • Review sales proposals and pitch concepts for accuracy of campaign messaging and planning.
  • Develop TerraCycle’s portfolio of agency-level work to impress current and potential partners.
  • Present ideas and pitch concepts with knowledge and enthusiasm to senior TerraCycle staff as well as current and potential clients.
  • Draft graphics and storyboard to help translate ideas across internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage creative projects from inception through implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Authentic voice and out-of-the-box thinking
  • 3+ years of marketing / agency experience
  • BA/BS required
  • Incredible creative vision, ability to develop multiple ideas quickly
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with ability to sketch or storyboard
  • Passionate and persuasive presentation skills
  • Strong planning skills, ability to foresee execution strategy
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills
  • A well-rounded digital background with a finger on the pulse (web, social, mobile)
