2021 Colgate® & ShopRite® Save Water Challenge

As things warm up (and often dry up) in the summer, you realize what a critical resource water is for life. This summer, you can help your children learn an important lesson about conserving water - and the role water plays in gardens and providing the food we eat. By teaching your children to be more aware about water conservation (like turning off the water while they’re brushing their teeth), you can help your kids’ school win a community garden made from recycled toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY to enter or win. Contest open only to schools within NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, or MD. One (1) pledge per person per day. The contest will run from July 11, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. PST to September 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST. The first place school with the most pledges will receive a garden prize worth $15,000 ARV, the second place school will receive a garden prize worth $10,000 ARV, and the third place school will receive a garden prize worth $5,000 ARV. Total ARV of all prizes will be approximately $30,000.

PLEDGE - Encourage your friends, family and school community to participate and pledge to save water on behalf of your kids’ school. Every pledge will be counted in the leaderboard below, and the top three (3) schools to earn the most pledges by the end of the promotion will win a garden made from recycled material. 

Any school enrolled in any of our recycling programs could win*! Your school can sign up for any of our recycling programs here.

You don’t have to be a teacher or student to pledge.  Anyone can pledge to save water and support a school!

First Place: 

The school that receives the most pledges to save water during the contest period will be eligible to win a garden prize made from recycled material that includes 48 pieces of garden lumber, one (1) picnic table, one (1) gazebo, and one (1) flat bench valued at $15,000! 

Second Place: 

The school that received the second-highest number of pledges will be eligible to win a garden prize made from recycled material that includes 48 pieces of garden lumber, two (2) picnic tables, one (1) flat bench, one (1) high-back bench, and recycling receptacle valued at $10,000!

Third Place: 

The school that received the third-highest number of pledges will be eligible to win a garden prize made from recycled material that includes 48 pieces of garden lumber and two (2) flat benches valued at $5,000!

The estimated retail value (ARV) of all prizes is $30,000! TerraCycle will work with the winning schools to coordinate the delivery and installation process.
