Bausch + Lomb Reports More Than 94 Million Units of Contact Lenses, Lens Care and Eye Care Materials Collected Through ONE By ONE and Biotrue® Eye Care Recycling Programs

Bausch + Lomb Corporation (NYSE/TSX: BLCO), a leading global eye health company dedicated to helping people see better to live better, today announced its exclusive ONE by ONE Recycling and Biotrue Eye Care Recycling programs have collected a total of 94,119,275 units*, or 569,743 pounds, of used contact lenses, eye care and lens care materials in the United States. That’s equivalent to the weight of roughly 690 polar bears.

Bristol Motor Speedway, Keep Tennessee Beautiful Partner on Cigarette Litter Prevention and Recycling

Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) has joined Keep America Beautiful® and Keep Tennessee Beautiful in a cigarette litter prevention campaign to launch during race weekend, Sept. 19-21. KAB and KTnB will provide 60 guest-facing cigarette butt receptacles to be installed throughout the BMS complex. The butts will then be collected and shipped free to TerraCycle for recycling.

Pilot project: Family hopes Bloomington neighborhood recycling project sparks others

Ten households in Bloomington's Covenanter neighborhood are recycling more than most other city residents thanks to a $1,000 grant from the Bloomington Commission on Sustainability that kick-started a recycling pilot project. Everything from plastic wrapping to unusable socks can be dropped off and will eventually be shipped to a location where they can be reused or recycled — instead of being placed in a landfill.
