How it works
We’ve made getting started with the Sephora Free Recycling Programme easy! Simply drop your beauty empties off at any Sephora store, and we’ll recycle them.

Participating in this programme is easy and FREE! See answers to frequently-asked questions here.
No, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off for recycling, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before dropping in store. Sephora stores will not accept dripping items, so please make sure your items are dry.
Sephora sponsors this national recycling programme making it free for you to participate.
Any brand of cosmetic, hair care or skin care packaging.
The program does not accept:
- Packaging still containing lots of product
- Aerosol cans or perfume bottles
- Wooden makeup pencils
- Makeup wipes or cloth face masks
- Nail polish bottles and nail polish remover bottles
- Bags, brushes, makeup sponges, false eyelashes, eyelash curlers and other beauty accessories
- Outer cardboard packaging can be recycled with your local council, so please don’t include this in your shipment to TerraCycle

Rewards
Customers can earn Beauty Pass points each time they recycle.
SIGN UP - Sign up to the Sephora Beauty Pass programme or sign into your existing account.
RETURN - Take your empties to the register and earn rewards points.
1 - 5 empties = 50 points
5 - 10 empties = 100 points
10+ empties = 150 points
REDEEM - Your points will be added to your Beauty Pass account for you to use next time you shop*.

Once collected, the beauty empties are cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
