Fastenal Partners with TerraCycle to Expand Workplace Recycling

Fastenal has partnered with TerraCycle to offer workplace recycling solutions for hard-to-recycle materials across its U.S. operations. Through the program, businesses can collect items such as PPE, packaging, and other difficult waste streams using TerraCycle’s prepaid recycling boxes and logistics system. The partnership makes it easier for workplaces to manage waste responsibly and keep materials in use instead of sending them to landfills.

Empty Potato Chip Bags Don't Belong in Your Recycling Bin

Potato chip bags are typically made from multiple layers of plastic and aluminum fused together to keep snacks fresh, but that design makes them difficult for standard recycling systems to process. Because the materials cannot easily be separated, most curbside programs do not accept this type of packaging. TerraCycle helps address this challenge through specialized recycling solutions that collect and process hard to recycle materials like flexible snack packaging, enabling the materials to be recycled and kept in use instead of ending up in landfills and incinerators.

New customers also receive a discount on their initial purchase. TerraCycle's Zero Waste Box™ recycles hard-to-recycle materials like flexible plastics, coffee capsules, and cosmetics packaging that municipal recycling systems don't accept.
