Use our interactive map below to find municipal/local (non-TerraCycle) recycling options. You can typically recycle Tide, Downy, Gain, and Dreft fabric care bottles and caps that have a #2 or #5 plastic identification symbol at these locations. As the information in this map is publicly sourced, we recommend contacting locations before visiting to ensure they are still accepting this type of waste for recycling. Please help us keep our information current by contacting mapupdates@terracycle.com to recommend adding new locations and/or changes to current ones.

If no local (non-TerraCycle) recycling solution exists in your area for these items in the map below, you can include them in your shipments through TerraCycle’s Tide Free Recycling Program.

Please note that volunteer administrators (not TerraCycle) manage drop-off points. The administrators choose the location, hours, and accepted waste streams. Please contact the administrator if you have questions about or suggestions for a specific drop-off location.

How it works

We’ve made getting started with the Tide Free Recycling Program easy! Simply request a QR code or shipping label with FedEx, or download a shipping label via UPS to send your Tide, Downy, Gain, Bounce, NBD., and Dreft fabric care packaging to TerraCycle, and we’ll recycle them.

Please recycle locally where possible. Paperboard packaging and Tide, Downy, Gain, and Dreft fabric care bottles and caps may be recyclable through your local curbside service or municipal recycling drop-off locations. If you can't recycle them locally, you can send them to TerraCycle to be recycled.

Collect

Create a TerraCycle account and join this program. Then, reuse any box you have to start collecting your Tide, Gain, Downy, Bounce, NBD., and Dreft fabric care packaging.

Request a shipping label

When your box is full, sign in to your TerraCycle account and request a QR code or shipping label with FedEx, or download a shipping label via UPS.

Ship

Seal your box, remove old labels, and your chosen shipping carrier will send it to us to be recycled.

Proctor & Gamble has sponsored this free recycling program, so there is no direct cost to you.

We encourage you to ship when your box is full of fabric care packaging to minimize the transportation carbon footprint for this program. Shipping carriers will not accept dripping packages, so please make sure your items are dry.

No, you do not need to clean the packaging before dropping it off, but please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before shipping.
