How it works

Participating in your home, office, school or organisation is completely free and very easy.

Create a free TerraCycle account online and join the Burt's Bees Recycle on Us Recycling Program. Collect your used Burt's Bees products in any box. When you are ready to send in a shipment, download a shipping label from your TerraCycle account by clicking “Request a postage label” and follow the prompts. Print out your label and tape it securely onto your box. Ship the box to TerraCycle by dropping it off at your nearby post office.

What you can recycle in this program

Program accepted waste: Burt's Bees branded personal care, lip care, and skin packaging.

Please do not include: cardboard or other brands of skincare and personal care packaging.

Best practices for recycling

In order to recycle this waste stream properly, please make sure all excess product has been removed (i.e. leftover lip balm).

What happens to the waste

Once collected, the Burt's Bees packaging is sorted, cleaned, melted and turned into pellets that can be remoulded to make new recycled products. Click here for more information about our recycling process.

TerraCycle Points

For every shipment of used Burt's Bees packaging sent to TerraCycle, you will receive $1 per kilogram of waste, which can then be donated to a non-profit organisation or school of your choice.

Over the years Burt’s Bees brand has become one of the world’s leading natural personal care brands. On average, Burt’s Bees products are 99% natural, with over half of the products 100% natural — after all, what goes on to your body goes into your body.
