Become a public drop-off location — a community hub where people can drop off their recycling.
When you become a public drop-off location, you make it easier for people in your area to recycle more. Instead of throwing away empties and packaging, they can simply collect them and bring them to your drop off location. It’s super easy for them - and we make it super easy for you, too! Your location can be managed by you, or by a group and you can earn TerraCycle points to raise money for the charity of your choice.
First, choose a good spot for your public drop-off location. It should be located in a popular, easily accessible area (for example: a library, community center, place of worship or retail store). The location should be open during daytime hours so people can drop off their recycling, or it can be located outside (you’ll need an outdoor, weather-resistant collection bin).
The TerraCycle team will review your profile to make sure you’re eligible to become a public drop-off location. Once you’ve been approved, you will be added to the program and you can begin collecting and recycling! After your location is approved, we will publish your drop-off information on a searchable map so that people in your area can recycle with you.
Encourage your customers, patients, members and people in the community to recycle and use your drop-off location to help raise money for your charity. A variety of useful posters and stickers are available to help you promote your drop off location.
