How it works

There are 2 different ways to participate in this programme:

1) Drop off your Pringles® tubes at your nearest public drop-off location or Bring Bank

Find your nearest public drop-off location on the interactive map above or take a look at the full list of Bring Bank locations available on the Pringles website, then drop off your Pringles® tubes.

We’ve widened this programme’s network to include Bring Bank locations! This means you’ll never be far from somewhere to recycle your Pringles® tubes.

2) Set up a public drop-off location

If you can’t find somewhere to drop off your Pringles® tubes in your area, you can apply to set up your own public drop-off location with us. The main criteria of a successful application is that there aren’t either of these types of locations in your area already, so that we can ensure an even network across the UK. If you discover there isn’t, then applying is easy! Simply follow these steps:

  1. Create a TerraCycle account.
  2. Find a public place to host your collection (with the prior consent of the person in charge of the place), keeping in mind you can only have one public drop-off location per account per programme.
  3. Fill out this form to finalise your request.

Once you are a member of the programme (by setting up a public drop-off location) and when you are ready to send a parcel, please follow these steps:

  1. Download a free UPS label from your account.
  2. Print the label out.
  3. Place your waste in a sturdy cardboard box that is no bigger than 60 x 60 x 50cm and a maximum weight of 20kg.
  4. Attach the label securely to your parcel, and ensure it is easy to read.
  5. Arrange a free pick-up for your parcel via UPS by either booking online, calling 03457 877 877 or dropping off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point.

What you can recycle in this programme

Please check out our Accepted Waste Poster below for more details.

What happens to this waste

The Pringles® tubes are crushed and separated by their different components, as the components are recycled separately. The plastic lids are pelletized and the steel base is smelted. The cardboard, plastic and aluminium layer parts are separated through pulping so that the cardboard fibres can then be used for a new pulp. The remaining plastic and aluminium are pelletized. All materials can then be used in new products or applications.

Rewards

This programme offers 100 TerraCycle points for each kilogram of Pringles® tubes sent via public drop-off locations. However, the points will only be awarded if the parcel reaches the minimum weight of 4 kilograms.

For example:

3 kilograms = 0 TerraCycle® points
4 kilograms = 400 TerraCycle® points
7.5 kilograms = 750 TerraCycle® points

Please note that TerraCycle points are credited to the accounts of public drop-off location administrators as a reward for their collection efforts. The number of points given is determined by the weight of the parcel. 1 TerraCycle point is worth 1 penny.

Once credited, the points can be redeemed as financial donations to the charity or school chosen by the owner of the points. The points must be redeemed on the TerraCycle website.

Bring Bank locations don’t include TerraCycle points.
